Application Review Begins: March 2, 2015

Program Dates: May 26 - July 31, 2015

Applications from students from underrepresented groups and smaller institutions where opportunities for research are limited are highly encouraged.

To assure full consideration the interested candidates are encouraged to apply early and to submit a complete application.

Application Checklist

Before you start your application, be sure you have these things ready.

  1. Unofficial transcript in .pdf format named LastName_FirstName_Transcript.pdf
  2. Resume in .pdf format named LastName_FirstName_Resume.pdf
  3. 100 word max description of your career interests
  4. 150 word max description of your research interests
  5. 200 word max description of what you hope to gain from participation in this program and how it contributes to your career plans and related decisions
  6. 100 word max explanation about what you think you can contribute to the program and why we should choose you as an REU Microbiology participant.
  7. Contact name and information for 2 people who have served as a mentor to you and can speak about your potential and motivation for performing research, as well as your career goals.
  8. If you have had previous research experience, 200 word max description of what you learned from the experience(s)-- techniques as well as other elements of your personal, academic, and professional development.
